Sydney's Turkish Australians helping Australia and the world: Feza Foundation

Feza Foundation originated from a schooling initiative in 1994 by a group of dedicated Turkish Australian volunteers. They had a dream; to defeat ignorance through education, defeat poverty through sharing and defeat division through unity.. Since then, Feza Foundation has been engaged in various educational, charitable and social activities that surround Australians today.

Feza Foundation's first project, Sule College is an independent private school, which started education with 33 students in 1996. With enormous support and relentless efforts of the Australian Turkish community, Sule College grew rapidly and is now operating in three different campuses across NSW.

Although the founders of the Feza Foundatin and Sule college are predominantly Turkish Australians, Sule College is an independent non denominational private school. The school now caters for more than 1,700 students from 118 different suburbs and 24 different ethnic backgrounds.

The Foundations activities do not stop there. The Foundation also encourages welfare activities to the poor in dire need across the globe. Feza Foundation has organised emergency relief and human aid campaigns for the poor in Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Laos, Malawi, Mozambique, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Tanzania, Turkey, Vietnam and Zimbabwe. Perhaps another important point to underline the wider influence of the Foundation is the fact that, the participation of the Sule College students in its charitable activities. The students donated their allowings to the victims of the Bali bombings and the victims of the bushfires in the ACT and Victoria.

Below you can see some of the photos from Feza Foundation's charity work:
