Sydney Businessmen Association (SIAD) Incorporated is an independent, non-profit, non-government organisation of business people working for Australia’s economic growth and prosperity.
The founding members of the organisation are a group of Sydney businessmen of Turkish origin. The members are made up of executive staff/partners of large Australian companies as well as managing directors of large to small sized Turkish-Australian businesses.
The formation of SIAD stemmed from the desire to support the welfare of the Australian business environment, as well as Australian Turkish business community. SIAD specialises in assisting trade and investment enquiries in relation to Australia, Turkey and Asia Pacific countries. They hold strong ties with government bodies, leading corporations, prominent individuals and similar organisations across Australia, Turkey and Asia-Pacific countries.
SIAD is committed to increasing the bilateral trade between Australia and Turkey. The foreign trade volume between Australia and Turkey stands at a mere US$731mn (2006 figures) and hence offers significant growth potential.
SIAD has been welcomed by the Australian business community since foreign trade relations between Australia and Turkey have long been neglected and there has been a vital need for a dedicated organisation to improve links between these two countries.
