2016 Turkish Republic Day Festival
NCTA along with other Turkish Associations of NSW will be hosting the 2016 Turkish Republic Day Festival 30th October, Sunday. The NCTA as part of the Australian Turkish Language and Culture platform will be celebrating the declaration of the Turkish Republic in 1923 by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Percy Street, Auburn
9am – 4pm
There will be food stalls, music, traditional dancers, martial arts, Turkish theatre and other activities for young and old all day. It will be a wonderful event and its free entry, bring your picnic hat, chair and sunscreen. There is also a drawing/painting competition for children.
The competition for children will be in three age groups
* 6 years old and below
* between 7-8 years old
* ten years old and over
Theme: Cumhuriyet Bayramı ve Atatürk
There will be surprise prizes for first 3 in ever group. paintings should be handed in to your teacher by the 22 October
At the festival Turkish school students will have a formal march past, Turkish traditional shows, folk dance, poems, songs and competitions.
Turkish sports groups shows. Double Impact Taekwando Spor Klübü will have a show.
Turkish music groups will perform live shows.
There will be Turkish foods and drinks that can be purchased throughout the day. There will be tables and chairs provided to sit and eat or drink. If you wish you can also bring your own chair.
