60 million dollars of donations were collected in 3 hours at a TV show produced by Samayolu TV. The TV Show was organized by Turkey's legendary International soccer player Hakan Sukur (who is now a memberof Turkish Parliament) and was broadcasted on Samanyolu TV and over 100 national TV channels,

Prominent scholar Fethullah Gulen was the first person to donate. He donated 20,000 YTL. TUSKON CEO Riza Meral donated 500,000 Turkish Liras. FI-Yapi Construction Holding, donated 500 houses (worth 35 million YTLs). Dogus Holding donated 2,5 Million dollars. Azerbaijani businessmen donated 500,000 dollars.

Soldiers, students, children, housewives called the TV show to join celebrities, ministers and famous writers who donated money. Former international soccer star Hakan Sukur, who is now a member of Turkish Parliament submitted an offer to Turkish Parliament requesting all members of the Parliament to donate their salaries to the victims of the Van Earthquake.

In 3 hours, Samanyolu TV collected 63 million dollars of donations.
