Hip Turkish coffeehouse is designed just like a prison

A coffee shop, located in the ocean-side town of Yalova, is designed to look and feel like a prison.

According to Mynet, guests enter can take faux mug shots and waiters in orange jumpsuits serve customers food and coffee in cell-like enclosures.

Co-founder Canhur Aktuglu, formerly a graphic designer, says their concept is all about the experience rather than the product. The costumes of the waiters resemble that of the prisoners in the populer series Orange is the New Black. The architecture of the coffee shop, particularly broken glasses on the windows, the lift and the storage, closely resemble that of a prison.

Despite its design as a prison, Haft cafe is designed to “free” its patrons away from the daily grind, the co-founder says.
